This exceptionally spacious sideboard originates from the region of northern Italian furniture production around Cantù and bears the Associazione Piccola Industria sticker on its interior, indicating its manufacture within a quality-oriented, artisanal production network. The craftsmanship and attention to detail clearly reflect the heyday of Italian design in the 1960s, a period when material, construction, and form combined to create a particularly refined whole. The body is veneered in exquisite rosewood, displaying a vibrant, high-contrast grain with warm, deep brown tones and characteristic markings. The clearly structured front is defined by a combination of doors and a central drawer unit, with the staggered, horizontally sculpted drawer fronts adding a particularly striking visual element. The drawers themselves are expertly crafted, featuring visible dovetail joints and partially lined with red felt – a nod to their original intended use for cutlery or fine utensils.
