Colorful works, tropical settings and above all sun, sea and beach. Characteristic of his work are the many shades of color and the various shades in which he builds up his works. Various shades of red, yellow and blue are used side by side as contrast or to suggest depth. His landscapes can be described as built-up color scenes. The sunny character of the artist is reflected in the work. Boonacker is a flamboyant personality. A true cosmopolitan. He has traveled much of his life and has seen almost the whole world. Spain, Italy, Brazil and Mexico are particularly favorite destinations. His travels are therefore the source of inspiration for painting. He first expressed his love for art through his art lectures in Rome, Florence and Venice. After enthusiastic reactions to his work, he decided a few years ago to devote himself entirely to painting. He mainly works with acrylic paint in many and bright shades, occasionally interspersed with silver or gold. After the success of his canvases, a number of serigraphs by his hand have now appeared. Inspired by his travels, his works have titles like “Andalucia”, “Kilimanjaro” or “Corsica” etc. However cosmopolitan his art is, its basis is in Dutch traditional still lifes and landscapes. Boonacker unmistakably has its roots in the Netherlands!
