Showroom model Rietveld Originals Press Room Chair, upholstered in yellow Kvadrat Steelcut Trio with solid black oak armrests. A special design by Gerrit Rietveld from 1958. The Press Room Chair was originally designed for the UNESCO building in Paris, as a comfortable lounge chair for journalists in the press room. Due to time and budget constraints, the design was not executed at the time. However, the original drawings and models were preserved, after which the armchair was finally officially put into production in 2014. Steelcut Trio is a high-quality wool upholstery fabric from Kvadrat. The current Steelcut Trio 3 consists of 90% virgin wool and 10% nylon and is woven with three differently colored yarns. This creates the characteristic three-dimensional, mottled structure. The fabric has a wear resistance of 100,000 Martindale.
