Silver-plated reproduction medal, from "The Treasure of Ancient Coins" collection, published by BP (British Petroleum) in the 1970s. Item No. IV in the series. Obverse: reproduction of the famous Syracuse tetradrachm known as the "Demareteion" (5th century BCE): profile head of the nymph Arethusa, crowned with laurel, surrounded by four dolphins and a Greek inscription. One of the most beautiful coins of Greek Antiquity. Reverse: inscription "The Treasure of Ancient Coins – IV – Syracuse Demareteion – 5th c. BCE – BP Collection". Beautiful silver patina, crisp and well-preserved relief. Diameter: approximately 3 cm. The BP "Treasure of Ancient Coins" collection is now sought after by medal collectors and enthusiasts of complete series. An individual piece, ideal for completing a collection or starting one.
