Product description
Beautiful set of vintage armchairs, model 'Relax', designed by Marco Zanuso and produced by Poltronova in the 1960s. Zanuso was an influential Italian designer known for his innovative use of materials and experimental designs. His work played an important role in post-war Italian furniture design.
These pieces were in Italy until mid-2026 and have recently been fully restored, respecting the original design. The solid beech wood frames have been carefully treated, preserving their characteristic patina. The armrests of bent plywood have been recolored and finished, bringing them back to excellent condition.
The seat and back cushions have new foam and have been re-upholstered in a high-quality, fresh green Gabriel fabric. The color closely matches that of the original upholstery and complements the playful appearance of the design.
The armchairs have a light, open construction, with angled round legs and wide, curved armrests. Special details include the spiral inlay in the wooden frame and the integrated metal ashtrays in the armrests. The metal back frame has retained its characteristic, weathered appearance and forms a beautiful contrast with the restored woodwork and fresh upholstery.
The armchairs offer pleasant seating comfort thanks to the slightly reclining backrests and renewed cushions. A special set of Italian mid-century design, in which Zanuso's distinctive design style clearly emerges. After careful restoration, ready for years of use.
Price per piece, two available.
