Product description
Striking pair of vintage Space Age wall sconces, most likely dating from the 1960s–1970s, with a playful combination of vivid red, clear textured glass and chrome-toned metal.
Each wall light features a sculptural glossy red trumpet-shaped body, topped by a substantial two-part clear glass shade. The moulded glass has a geometric grid texture with ribbed edges, producing attractive reflections and giving the lights a distinctly futuristic character.
The lamps are supported by curved U-shaped metal arms attached to rectangular wall plates. The combination of bold primary colour, geometric pressed glass, chrome and exaggerated forms is characteristic of Space Age and Pop-era European lighting.
These would work particularly well as bedside wall lights, on either side of a mirror, or as statement lighting in a Mid-Century Modern, Space Age or eclectic interior.
Equipped with E14 light bulb sockets.
