About the Designer
Javier Mariscal (b. 1950) is one of Spain’s most influential contemporary designers, known for his multidisciplinary practice spanning furniture, graphics, interiors, and illustration. His work is characterized by a spontaneous, cartoon-like line and a rejection of rigid modernist formalism. Internationally recognized for projects such as the Barcelona Olympic mascot “Cobi,” Mariscal brought a distinctly Mediterranean wit and narrative sensibility to his collaborations with Rosenthal.
