Product description
Rare and highly sculptural model 6775 table lamp, designed by Christian Dell for Kaiser Leuchten, Gebr. Kaiser & Co., Neheim-Hüsten, and documented in the original Kaiser catalogue from the late 1950s / around 1960. The lamp is distinguished by its unusually dynamic cantilevered construction. A sweeping black lacquered support carries a long brass arm, while the large, shallow black reflector appears to float above the base. The oversized shade, measuring approximately 38 cm in diameter, features the characteristic circular arrangement of small perforations on its upper surface. The brass arm and reflector can be adjusted, allowing the position and direction of the light to be varied. The base is constructed from brass with a heavy cast-metal counterweight, giving the lamp both visual lightness and structural stability. Model 6775 is among the rarer Kaiser designs and represents an elegant continuation of the functionalist design principles associated with Christian Dell, translated into the refined material language of German post-war modernism. This example is preserved in collectible vintage condition, with its original materials, surfaces and age-related patina retained. The electrical system should be replaced by a professional.
