Exceptional art set, collector's item ready to plug in. This unique lot combines the prestige of late 19th-century antiquity and the excellence of high-quality contemporary artisanal restoration.
1 the subjects - One representing a musician playing the flute, Phra Aphai Mani, a famous character from Thai tradition. - The other rare one features its female counterpart, a celestial deity holding a closed lotus bud, a symbol of sacred offering. This celestial deity is kneeling and rests on a precious base, a chiseled bronze lotus throne.
2 art markings The male lamp features an engraved "Thailand" signature on its base. The rare female lamp, elevated on its double bronze base, includes both an authentic rectangular workshop cartouche stamp in relief on the side and an inscription in sacred script serving as a blessing seal.
3 the bronzes reveal a magnificent underlying black natural oxidation patina, an absolute criterion for authentic centenarian pieces. Enhanced with gold leaf.
4 the lamp bases have a fixed lyre-shaped brass structure.
5 the lampshades, handmade creation. Exterior red-gold brocade with traditional Thai motifs. The interior is entirely lined with pale yellow silk from the famous haute couture manufacturer Jolie Femme Thai Silk in Chiang Mai, which closed its doors in 2019.
6 electricity brought up to standard, black twisted fabric cables. LED filament bulbs included.
7 condition The bronze sculptures have a beautiful authentic use patina. Complete stamp. Rare and highly sought-after female model.
8 dimensions Male 73 with lampshade, 4kg 400, statue 40 cm. Female 76 with lampshade, 4kg 800, statue 45 cm. Additional photos available upon request without problem.
