Rare Set Vintage Raak Fuga 'Solo' Table Lamps – Maija Liisa Komulainen (1960s) Description: Offered: A beautiful and extremely rare set of two original 'Fuga Solo' table lamps (model D-2069). This iconic Space Age design was created in the 1960s by the Finnish architect Maija Liisa Komulainen for the renowned Dutch lighting manufacturer RAAK Amsterdam. While the Fuga design was frequently released as a wall lamp, this freestanding variant on the heavy, recognizable black base is much rarer and highly sought after by lovers of Mid-Century Modern design. About the design: The lamps are shaped like an organ pipe and are made of a copper-colored cylinder with a white enameled interior. By using a mirrored incandescent bulb or mirrored LED bulb, the light reflects beautifully off the white interior. This creates a unique and atmospheric lighting effect without looking directly into the light source.
