Magnificent pair (set of 2) covered Vases – Hand-painted & signed. For sale: a beautiful and complete pair (pendant) of antique French covered Vases in the recognizable and opulent Sèvres style. These Vases were manufactured around the end of the 19th century / early 20th century (Belle Époque / Napoleon III period). The Vases stand out due to their deep, bright blue ground color (bleu céleste), embellished with rich, refined gold-gilded garlands and floral ornaments. Centrally on each Vase is a cartouche with a beautifully hand-painted floral bouquet (including roses and wildflowers). Origin: France (Paris/Limoges atelier), made in the 18th-century royal Sèvres style. Signature/Mark: Both Vases are marked on the bottom of the foot with the hand-painted blue painter's mark "DE", confirming the decorator's handiwork. The old inventory/shop sticker is also partially present. Quantity: Complete, symmetrical set of two (very rare as a pair!). Condition: In beautiful antique condition with light, characteristic signs of age on the gold leaf that emphasize authenticity. No defects or disturbing damage, including the lids. This magnificent pair is an absolute eye-catcher on a mantelpiece, dresser, or in a display cabinet. Height 48cm. Maximum width 26cm. Delivery: Given the fragility of the antique porcelain, pickup is strongly preferred. Shipping may be possible in consultation, whereby the Vases are packed with extreme care, double-boxed, and insured (risk and cost to buyer).
