Product description
Small baluster vase in cloisonné enamel, featuring a rich polychrome decoration of a bird among flowers and foliage. Against a pale yellow background, peonies and other flowers in shades of pink, red, blue, and white stand out, accompanied by a red bird perched on a branch. The motifs are delimited by fine metal cloisons, while the neck, shoulder, and foot feature ornamental friezes. The gilded metal borders emphasize its slender silhouette. The technique, palette, and iconography likely correspond to Chinese export production from the second half of the 20th century. The piece bears no visible mark or signature. Height: 16 cm Width: 9 cm Depth: 9 cm Weight: 330 g Average to fairly good vintage condition. The turquoise enameled bottom is pierced in its center, which prevents its use with water as is. Small enamel loss on the floral decoration, signs of use, fine scratches, small pitting, and metal patina. A colorful decorative piece, ideal on a shelf, a console, or in a cabinet of Asian objects.
