This vintage desk is a design by the Dutch designer Cees Braakman for manufacturer Pastoe. The furniture is a representative example of Dutch Design from the mid-20th century, immediately recognizable by the elegant, curved 'loop legs' characteristic of Braakman's work from this period. The desk is made of blond birch wood, which gives it a light and warm appearance. The construction offers a functional layout with a drawer unit with three drawers on the left side and a cabinet with a door and internal shelves on the right side. An extendable top above the right cabinet provides extra workspace. Its compact, yet well-thought-out design makes it a practical piece of furniture. The desk is in good, used condition consistent with its age. The wood has developed a characteristic patina over the years. The original structure and functionality have remained fully intact, including the original locks and handles. Thanks to its timeless aesthetic and modest size, this desk is an excellent addition to a home office or study.
