A fine pair of lounge chairs in solid dark stained oak, reupholstered cushions in great quality striped savak wool. Designed by Hans J. Wegner for Getama, model "GE-530".
Hans J. Wegner (Danish, 1914–2007) was a renowned furniture designer associated with Organic Functionalism. Born in southern Denmark, Wegner apprenticed as a cabinetmaker, and later attended the Danish School of Arts and Crafts and the Architectural Academy in Copenhagen.
With a heavy focus on functionality, this design style leans toward modernism, while incorporating coziness. The Scandinavian design style aims to provide a way for people to live more sustainably and in harmony with one another.
