Product description
A charming pair of Italian Mid-Century Modern table lamps dating from the 1950s, distinguished by their sculptural Murano glass shades. Each lamp features a spherical hand-crafted glass shade combining clear and softly opaline white glass. Applied clear glass elements radiate from an amber-colored center at the top, creating an organic floral or starburst-like composition that gives the lamps a strong decorative presence from every angle. When illuminated, the opaline lower portion diffuses the light into a warm atmospheric glow, while the transparent upper section reveals the bulb and emphasizes the depth and texture of the applied glass decoration. The Murano glass shades are complemented by chrome-plated metal fittings and rounded dark wooden bases, creating an attractive contrast of materials typical of Italian postwar design. Their relatively compact scale makes the pair particularly well suited for bedside tables, nightstands, consoles or side tables. Each lamp is equipped with an inline switch. The lamps have been carefully cleaned and repolished, with renewed electrical components. They remain in very good vintage condition with minor signs of use and age consistent with their approximately 70-year history. Sold as a pair.
