Product description
A distinctive pair of Czechoslovak Mid-Century Modern wall lights from the 1960s, executed in white opaline glass and black Bakelite. Each fixture features two cylindrical opaline glass shades extending horizontally from a geometric central Bakelite body. The minimalist black-and-white composition and architectural silhouette reflect the functional modernist aesthetic of postwar Czechoslovak lighting, while the softly diffused glass produces a warm and atmospheric illumination. With their compact proportions and strong graphic appearance, these lights are particularly suitable as bedside sconces, hallway lights, bathroom lighting or architectural accent fixtures. Their restrained design works equally well in Mid-Century Modern, Space Age, Bauhaus-inspired and contemporary interiors. The lamps have been carefully restored and fitted with new electrical components while retaining their original vintage character. Each fixture accommodates 2 × E12/E14 bulbs and is compatible with US electrical systems. The pair remains in very good vintage condition with minor signs of age and use consistent with its 1960s origin.
