Pair of 19th Century Andirons (original from the period).
Made in France around 1860 and constructed from bronze, each of the ornate andirons features abundant detailing.
On either side are highly detailed busts of elegant female goddesses, symbolizing deities or allegorical figures, adding a sense of grandeur and historical reference.
The top is decorated with a ball-shaped finial, supported by a tower-like structure with openwork decoration.
The craftsmanship shows a strong influence from the Baroque or Rococo periods, with their love of symmetry, gilding, and ornamental embellishments.
Very good condition in keeping with time and use.
