Product description
Elegant pair of large Italian pendant lights in hand-blown Murano glass and brass, dating from the 1970s. Each fixture features a broad, sculptural opaline glass shade with a raised central dome and gently curved profile. Sweeping brown and white linear decoration follows the contours of the glass, emphasizing the fluid shape and giving the lights a distinctive graphic quality. The combination of luminous white glass, warm brass details and the wide disc-shaped silhouette reflects the sophisticated Italian lighting design of the 1970s, with clear Mid-Century Modern and Space Age influences. Both glass shades retain their original “Venice Glass – Hand Made in Italy” labels. When illuminated, the opaline glass beautifully diffuses the light, creating a soft and atmospheric warm glow. With a substantial diameter of 54 cm / 21.3 in each, the pendants work especially well as a pair above a dining table, kitchen island or within a large residential or hospitality interior. The brass components have been carefully repolished and both fixtures have been professionally rewired with new electrical components. Each light is fitted with one E26/E27 socket and is compatible with European and US electrical systems. The suspension height can be shortened upon request before shipping at no additional cost. Very good vintage condition with minor signs of use and age consistent with their original 1970s manufacture.
