Limited edition wool rug produced by Desso, Netherlands, after Pablo Picasso’s 1964 work “Tête d’Homme”. Manufactured in 1996 under official license from the Succession Picasso, the rug was issued in a limited edition of 500 examples. This example is individually numbered 90/500. Executed in 100% pure new wool, the design translates Picasso’s expressive portrait into a richly textured textile surface. Strong areas of black, red, yellow, green and blue are set against a warm off-white ground, preserving the graphic power of the original composition while giving it a distinctly tactile presence. This example is preserved in exceptional collectible condition. It was never used as a floor rug and was displayed exclusively on the wall. The condition is particularly noteworthy: no moth damage no missing areas no pressure marks no pile loss no edge damage no fading or surface wear. The colours remain strong and the pile is exceptionally well preserved.
