Product description
Two authentic etchings by P. Verbeke, framed together in a single harmonious composition with a slightly aged passe-partout.
Both works depict a serene Flemish landscape, constructed using refined, traditional graphic techniques and a strikingly controlled use of cross-hatching. The linework is precise, rhythmic, and bears witness to an academic etching technique that was strongly present in Flemish art academies during the 1960s–1980s.
The dynamics of the landscape are beautifully captured:
the wind sweeping through the trees, the gentle movement in the fields, the quiet sense of depth — everything contributes to a timeless, minimalist aesthetic that fits particularly well in contemporary interiors.
The duo consists of:
one etching designated as “2nd plate” (a reworked state of the same composition)
one proof print, an early test print that reveals the artisanal process
Both are hand-signed by P. Verbeke. The whole forms a powerful, understated graphic work that radiates tranquility, craftsmanship, and a subtle poetry.
