This is an original Optima Relax Chair, designed in the late 1980s by Ingmar Relling for Westnofa. This piece embodies Norwegian design with a clever function: it transforms from an elegant high-back chair into a comfortable recliner. The chair is upholstered in supple, black genuine leather and rests on an elegant chromed steel tube frame. Padded armrests and an adjustable headrest provide additional comfort, while the original manufacturer's sticker from Westnofa/Vestlandske confirms its Norwegian origin. The adjustment mechanism is a highlight of the design, allowing for a seamless transition between positions. For its age, the chair is in very well-maintained condition. The leather has been cleaned and is well preserved, and the chrome frame shows a beautiful shine. The mechanism works perfectly, making it a fully functional piece of vintage design.
