This is an original Bauhaus desk lamp, made of brass, from the 1950s by Helo Leuchten. The inside of the base contains an iron counterweight. Height: 25 cm Lampshade: ∅ 23 cm Manufacturer: Helo Leuchten, Am Schwalbanger 48, 86633 Neuburg an der Donau, Germany. Other versions: This Helo Leuchten 1950s desk lamp was made in several colours. Made in green, blue, brown, maroon, red and so on. This desk lamp was a big success for the company. It was made for a long time. Early versions like this one from the 50s have a brass E14 bulb socket. Later versions have a Bakelite socket. Helo traces its origins back to the 1930s, when Henry Gerhard (senior) ran an electrical business under the name Elektrogeschäft Helo in Breslau (then Germany; today Wrocław, Poland). He founded the company in 1946. This model of Helo desk lamp can be seen in many movies, like Brazil (1985), Stan & Ollie (2018) etc. Condition: One small paint fault on the arm (seen on the photo), otherwise perfect. The white paint is not original, but professionally applied. Vintage style newly installed twisted electrical cord, plug and and switch.
