Description:
Extremely rare and authentic French Porte-bouquet or antique plant column in the iconic Arras style (Northern France, late 19th/early 20th century). This object is a magnificent example of early industrial craftsmanship and French garden architecture.
Exceptional Craftsmanship (Fils de Fer):
What distinguishes this example from modern reproductions is its ingenious construction. The fine-mesh wire structure is not welded, but wrapped around the vertical posts by hand in the traditional manner. This labor-intensive technique, also known as Fils de Fer, creates an organic and highly refined appearance typical of high-quality French garden antiques.
Solid Cast Iron Base:
The column rests on a heavy, thick-walled cast iron base (not thin sheet steel). The underside displays the characteristic antique sand casting. With a total weight of 2.45 kg, this Jardinière on a base is very stable. The central column is anchored to the base via an authentic mechanical connection, entirely without modern welds.

• Original Patina: The column is in the rare, original beige-yellow (cream) stove enamel. This authentic patina is consistent throughout the entire object and confirms that it has never been repainted.

• Bouquet Holder: In the center is a specific holder-bowl with a diameter of 7 cm, ideal for a slender vase or a zinc liner for a solitary bouquet.
