About This Design
The Moroso Victoria & Albert Orange is an Armchair by Ron Arad from 2000 for the Italian brand Moroso. The collection is named after London's Victoria and Albert Museum, where a major retrospective of Arad's work was exhibited. The design began as a kind of pressed donut, which Arad further shaped into a continuous, undulating line. The result is an Armchair that is both furniture and sculpture. The oval opening in the back and the flowing curves make the chair interesting from all sides.
The Armchair has a sturdy internal frame with foam padding. Over this is upholstery that is custom-sewn and closely follows the shape. The soft wool fabric and visible seams clearly demonstrate Moroso's craftsmanship. The chair is comfortable and gently envelops you. Thanks to its compact size, the Moroso Victoria & Albert in anthracite fits well in a living room, bedroom, reading nook, or office: quietly colored, yet still an eye-catcher.
