This charming and compact Mid-Century Modern highboard from the 1960s is a wonderful addition to a contemporary interior. The furniture is made of warm teak wood (veneer) and exudes the minimalist atmosphere of the Danish-Dutch design language of that period.
Aesthetic details: The cabinet is distinguished by the organically shaped, inlaid wooden handles on the underside of the doors and the slender, tapered wooden legs that give the piece an elegant and airy character.
Functional layout: Right: A smoothly running sliding door with a spacious storage compartment behind it. Left: A practical flap cabinet (perfect for use as an atmospheric bar cabinet or secretary) with an open display area below for books, art, or plants.
Dimensions: 160 cm wide x 117 cm high x 40 cm deep
Condition: Structurally, the furniture is in excellent and sturdy condition; the doors and flap close and open properly. The woodwork has a beautiful, deep grain. The teak top shows light, superficial water rings/signs of use that are inherent to its age (see photo). For enthusiasts, this can easily be treated, but even in this authentic vintage condition, it is a characteristic eye-catcher.
