Born in Italy in the 1960s, this table lamp captures the spirit of a golden age of Italian design, when architects and master glassmakers were rethinking what light could be. Its silhouette recalls the iconic Saffo lamp designed by Angelo Mangiarotti for Artemide: a sculptural, almost organic form that reads as a design statement even before it is switched on. The shade is mouth-blown Murano glass, shaped by hand in the tradition of the island's furnaces. Look closely and you'll see its signature: a slow, delicate fade from milky opaline white at the base to crystal-clear glass at the top. Running through the heart of the piece, a polished aluminium cone rises to meet a chrome rim, an elegant contrast between the softness of the glass and the precision of the metal. It all rests on a round metal base that anchors the form perfectly. It is also highly versatile. The lamp holds four bulbs, three in the base and one at the top, and lets you choose which ones to light. Illuminate the base for a warm, diffused glow rising through the opaline glass, or the top for a more focused, graphic effect. One lamp, several atmospheres. It works just as beautifully on a sideboard, a console or directly on the floor. Condition: Flawless. No chips, no cracks, no scratches. The glass and metal are in perfect condition, which is increasingly rare for a piece of this age.
