Product description
Separate cushions upholstered in a green fabric that complements the natural tone of the oak frame. These two identical armchairs form a cohesive set, making them an excellent choice for a living room, or as a pair arranged around a coffee table or in a lounge area.
The furniture has undergone a meticulous, professional restoration process involving the removal of old finishes, staining, and a final lacquer coating. The work was carried out by a talented carpenter with over 20 years of experience. The cushions were newly made to original specifications and upholstered in green fabric. Thanks to this restoration, the armchairs look magnificent and are ready to serve their new owner for years to come, withstanding the rigors of daily use.
Erik Wørts (1916–1997) was a Danish designer and cabinetmaker who combined traditional craftsmanship with industrial production capabilities. He collaborated with IKEA starting in the early 1960s, designing pieces such as tables, chairs, sideboards, and lounge furniture. His designs were characterized by simple construction, functionality, and a commitment to high-quality materials. IKEA began collaborating with Wørts in the early 1960s, and his designs from that period clearly reflect the Scandinavian character of the company's product range at the time. The Kolding armchairs are among the more interesting examples of the lounge furniture he created for IKEA.
