Product description
Marcel Breuer created this iconic armchair in 1928. A special stylistic element of this Bauhaus classic is the S-curve in the upper section of the chair. Designed according to the principle of "curve-swing-counter-swing", in which all the curves of the tubular steel find their counterpart. The technique harmoniously combines dynamism and lightness. Breuer, then head of the furniture workshop at the Bauhaus in Dessau, emigrated to the USA in 1933 due to his Jewish origins. There, together with Walter Gropius, he founded the architecture faculty at Harvard University and became one of the world's most renowned architects of his generation. Cover made of iron yarn. Frame made of nickel-plated tubular steel. The chair shows moderate signs of use.
