French Maison Le Dauphin Table lamp, “Caraïbes” model, dating from the 1970s–80s. Its decoration consists of a red gorgonian included in a thick block of black and translucent epoxy resin. The block is mounted on a brass structure, itself resting on a black lacquered wooden base. The inclusion remains visible on the edges of the block, enhancing the depth of the decoration. An original label under the base identifies the “Caraïbes” model. The lamp is presented with a new white cotton lampshade. The lampshade is not original. Maison Le Dauphin, founded in France in the 1960s, specialized in decorative lighting combining brass, glass, resin, ceramic, and natural materials.
