Exceptional sculptural Murano glass pendant lamp designed by Roberto Pamio & Renato Toso for Leucos, Italy, dating from the late 1960s / early 1970s. The design dates to approximately 1968 and is a beautiful example of Italian lighting design from this period. The lamp features a distinctive combination of a tall, softly rounded opal-white glass body and a large transparent hand-blown glass shade. Its dramatic free-form, undulating edge creates an almost flower-like silhouette and makes the lamp a sculptural object even when switched off. The substantial glass construction beautifully reflects and refracts the light. When illuminated, the opal glass produces a soft warm glow while the clear sculptural glass creates wonderful reflections.
