Beautiful and rare mid-century modern floor lamp designed by Charlotte Wawer (Germany) in the late 1950s / early 1960s. This is an iconic, highly collectible piece of German design history bought by my grandfather in the late 50s in Osterrode /Germany.
Perfect statement piece for design collection.
• Design & Materials: Features a sturdy brass-weighted base, a beautiful leather-wrapped central column, and a large drum shade made of organic parchment/goatskin.
• Signature Detail: The shade features Wawer’s iconic, hand-stitched heavy leather lacing running vertically and along the borders.
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The leather stitching is completely intact. The parchment shade has a beautiful, authentic aged patina and organic spotting that gives it an incredible warm, amber glow when lit.
