The furniture shown here is the iconic LC2 Armchair, designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. This model is manufactured by the Italian manufacturer Cassina, which has held the official production license for the LC collection since 1965. The Armchair is one of the most famous designs of modernism and is characterized by its clear, rational design, in which a polished, chrome-plated tubular steel frame encloses the separate, lavishly upholstered cushions. The cushions are loose and filled with polyurethane and polyester wadding, covered with black leather. The frame is designed as an open frame construction that completely encloses the seat and back area and emphasizes the geometric rigor of the design. The tension straps on which the seat cushions rest have been replaced with new ones; otherwise, this Armchair is in absolute original condition. The available documents and serial number 34088 prove its authenticity as a Cassina original.
The Armchair is in very good, well-maintained condition with only minimal signs of age and use. The leather is soft, evenly patinated, and free from relevant damage. The chrome frame shows a clean shine without significant scratches or signs of corrosion. The upholstery is dimensionally stable and comfortable, making the piece appear almost new, both visually and functionally.
