Product description
Authentic large antique travel trunk dating from the early 20th century (circa ), evoking the world of grand train and ocean liner journeys of the Belle Époque.
This flat trunk has a beautiful original patina with riveted fittings, reinforced corners, old locks, and remnants of leather handles. It retains several period travel labels, including one from the "Rond-Point Hôtel – Champs-Élysées – Paris, " giving it a unique charm and a true story.
The interior is fully preserved with its original caramel moiré fabric lining, typical of high-quality trunks intended for a bourgeois clientele travelling long distances. Its construction is meticulous and robust.
Its low and elegant format was designed to be stacked in trains and the holds of ocean liners. Today, it fits perfectly as a coffee table, storage chest, or end-of-bed piece in a chic country interior, family home, or explorer spirit.
