Product description
Large pendant lamp featuring a shallow semi-dome shade in translucent white acrylic. The fixture is defined by a modular internal construction where a concentric brushed metal ring creates a geometric break in the light path, shielding the bulb from direct horizontal view while reflecting light upwards into the dome and downwards into the room. The piece is suspended from a single steel cable with a dedicated chrome-plated ceiling canopy and a heavy-duty cast metal mounting loop. The construction and material palette are characteristic of Italian Space Age production of the 1970s, specifically referencing the functionalist lighting designs produced by manufacturers such as Guzzini or Reggiani. The use of translucent polymers during this period allowed for a voluminous presence without the weight of glass, providing a soft, uniform diffusion typical of high-end European interiors of the decade. Suited for suspension over a large dining table or as a central light source in a living space. Good vintage condition. The translucent shade remains bright; the internal silver ring shows light surface scratches and the chrome canopy shows minor pitting consistent with age.
