Elegant decorative vase in glazed ceramic, marked Royal Satsuma, featuring a tall baluster-shaped body, an elongated neck, and a sculptural, undulating rim. The body is finely painted with a figural scene set within a traditional Japanese interior, populated by figures dressed in richly decorated ceremonial robes. The composition is framed by elaborate geometric, floral, and textile-inspired motifs reminiscent of precious Oriental brocades. The surface has a lightly crackled ivory ground, enriched with shades of green, red, blue, and ochre, together with extensive gilt highlights and applied decoration. Particularly refined are the raised details executed in the moriage technique, visible on the garments, borders, and ornamental patterns. The vase is presented on a carved and lacquered wooden stand in a rich mahogany tone, with elegant scrolling lines that enhance its decorative presence.
