Product description
Large antique French Sacred Heart of Jesus statue in polychrome plaster, signed PUCCINI, dating from around 1900. The figure retains its original painted decoration in muted rose, pale green, deep blue and gilt tones. The Sacred Heart is richly modelled with gilt rays, flames and crown of thorns. The black base bears the French inscription: “Voilà ce Cœur qui a tant aimé les hommes.” The reverse is signed PUCCINI. Dimensions: Height 62 cm Maximum width 21 cm Base diameter 19 cm Weight approx. 4 kg Condition: Good antique condition with age-related wear, rubbing and small losses to the polychromy and gilding, especially around the base and raised areas. No major structural loss visible. Original patina preserved. A decorative and characterful example of early 20th-century French religious statuary.
