Vintage table lamp / architect lamp Luxo Stringa, designed by Dutch designer Hans Ansems in the early 1980s. A model with a particularly graphic design, featuring a flexible black tubular structure that allows its position and silhouette to be changed. The lamp can be widely extended, tilted, or brought back into its characteristic loop shape. Its perforated cylindrical head is adjustable, and its heavy base ensures excellent stability. The Stringa model is associated with US Design Patent Des. 283,361. 12 V – 50 W halogen lighting, with a transformer integrated into the base. The lamp originally had its technical label, which has now disappeared, but I have a photograph of it showing the mentions « Stringa », « BZ 18 », « 220 V ~ 50 Hz » and « 12 V 50 W ». An old adhesive partially bearing the name Hans Ansems is also still present on the tube. The lamp is functional and in very good vintage condition. It shows only slight traces of use consistent with its age, visible in the photographs. Dimensions: Base diameter: approx. 14 cm. Maximum extended height: approx. 100 cm. Dimensions vary depending on the position given to the flexible structure. A piece with a particularly singular design, representative of early 1980s European design and now relatively uncommon on the market.
