Product description
Spectacular and powerful animal Sculpture from the late 19th or early 20th century, signed Krakowki. The work depicts a roaring lion with an athletic body, open mouth, and flowing mane, perched on a rocky outcrop. The fine chiseling of the mane and the prominent musculature give the piece an impressive physical presence. The gilded bronze feline rests on its imposing original monolithic base of veined marble sculpted in a rocaille style. Height: 40 cm Width: 46 cm Depth: 20 cm Weight: 28.3 kg Good general decorative condition, with wear and irregularities in the patina. Presence of verdigris on the left hind paw. A retaining nut is missing on the rear fixing rod, without affecting the stability of the whole. Due to its volume and sculptural presence, this lion will naturally find its place on a robust console, a low cabinet, or in an eclectic interior.
