Original Brno Chair by Knoll International, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
The Brno Chair is one of the most famous classics of modern furniture design. Mies van der Rohe originally designed the chair in 1930 for the Villa Tugendhat in Brno. Its reduced construction and elegant cantilever form became a symbol of international modernism and Bauhaus-influenced design.
This piece features the characteristic flat, high-gloss chrome-plated steel frame, which runs in a continuous line from the armrests to the cantilever base. The seat and backrest are generously upholstered and covered with black leather; the armrests are also suitably padded.
The Armchair is in very good used condition. The leather is well-maintained and the chrome surfaces are generally very well preserved. Minor signs of wear consistent with age and use may be present and are documented in the photos.
