Product description
The Bertoia Side Chair, designed by Harry Bertoia for Knoll, is a canonical piece of mid-century modern design. This set of four chairs features the iconic wire mesh construction, demonstrating Bertoia's background in sculpture and metallurgy.
Constructed from welded steel wire with a polished chrome finish, the chairs present a light, airy silhouette that belies their structural strength. The design relies on the precise arrangement of the metal grid to provide ergonomic support. The chairs are offered without seat pads, highlighting the pure geometric form of the metalwork. White plastic glides are fitted to the base to protect flooring.
The set remains in highly presentable condition, retaining the bright finish of the chrome plating. The structural integrity of the wire mesh and the base frames is fully preserved, reflecting the enduring quality of Knoll's manufacturing.
These chairs are highly versatile, suited for use around a dining table or as occasional seating in a contemporary or mid-century interior. Their transparent quality allows them to occupy space without visually dominating the room.
