About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is an authentic oval dining table designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll, a defining piece from the revolutionary Pedestal Collection. Saarinen's quest to eliminate the "slum of legs" found under typical tables resulted in this sculptural and timeless form, celebrated for its unity of structure and aesthetic purity. This particular model features a substantial oval top measuring 198 cm in length, providing ample space for dining and social gatherings. The top is finished in a clean, white laminate, known for its durability and smooth surface. It rests upon the signature cast-aluminium trumpet base, which is coated in a protective white Rilsan finish. As confirmed by the labels underneath, this piece was produced by Knoll in Italy, upholding the manufacturer's strict quality standards. The table is presented in great condition, consistent with careful use in a private residence. The surfaces of both the top and the base are well-preserved, and the piece maintains its structural integrity. The presence of the original manufacturer's identification marks underneath the tabletop serves as a confirmation of its authenticity and provenance. As a focal point in any dining room or open-plan living space, this Saarinen table anchors the room with its elegant silhouette. Its versatile design complements a wide range of interior styles, from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary minimalism, pairing seamlessly with many iconic chair designs.
