A charming and highly distinctive Bambi Chair designed by Japanese designer and artist Takeshi Sawada for Danish design brand EO (Elements Optimal). First introduced in the 2010s, this playful sculptural piece beautifully blurs the line between functional furniture and art. The design is instantly recognizable in its whimsical interpretation of a young deer, with a beautifully rounded seat upholstered in soft faux fur and a wonderfully expressive backrest formed by a series of small antler-like wooden elements. The warm combination of natural European oak and American walnut gives the chair a sophisticated Scandinavian character, while Sawada’s playful Japanese design language brings an unexpected sense of personality and imagination. Although conceived as a children’s chair, the Bambi Chair has an appeal that extends far beyond the nursery.
