Description
Ib Kofod Larsen was a Danish architect and furniture designer. After studying architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, the young designer opened his own studio in Copenhagen. He collaborated with furniture manufacturers in Germany, Sweden, Japan, the USA, and Great Britain, and exhibited throughout Europe and the USA. Ib Kofod Larsen's creative mind produced some of the most experimental designs of Danish Modern design. Among his best-known works are the Elizabeth Chair (1956) and the Seal Chair (1955). The designer's sculptural works are among the most sought-after pieces by collectors and gallery owners worldwide.
The Djursholm armchair offered here dates from 1966. Only a few examples of this model were produced, making them correspondingly rare.
