Info about the artist
Henk van der Vet (1939, The Hague)
Because of his broad experience in this field, well-known artists came to Henk van der Vet's studio to make silk-screen prints with him. Karel Appel, Bram Bogart, Co Westerik, Kees van Bohemen, Tabuchi, Gillet, van Diemen and other artists were regular guests in this studio, and from this cooperation the most surprising prints were created. With Karel Appel, Henk van der Vet made, among other things, the album 'Seven Summer Days' in 1977, in which his photyographs were painted in by Appel.
His exhibitions in Houston (1986) and Los Angeles (1987) were a success and led, among other things, to contacts with various galleries and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles.
In June 1991 there was an exhibition of his work at the "Waldorf Astoria" and from August to September at the "New York Vista," in the World Trade Center, New York City.
In October 1992 Henk van der Vet received the "National Painters Award" for the color advice of factory hall and the designs for three murals at Elmo (Fokker) in Woensdrecht.
