Product description
Distinguish your living space with a curated design piece that reflects your unique style. This exceptional 1960s pendant Art. 3002 (XL edition) lamp is a brilliant testament to the historic cross-border collaboration between the Italian design powerhouse Harvey iGuzzini and the avant-garde manufacturer Meblo. Marrying Italian aesthetic refinement with cutting-edge material experimentation, this ceiling fixture doesn’t merely light a room—it completely redefines its architectural atmosphere with a distinct Space Age presence. What makes this specific model highly collectible is its brilliant engineering of light. The outer shade is constructed from thermoformed white acrylic (PMMA) strips, a revolutionary technique of the era that allowed for complex, aerodynamic curves without adding heavy structural weight. These strips are held together by a polished chrome-plated steel belt, adding a sharp, atomic-era contrast. Suspended perfectly at its core is a spherical, acid-etched glass orb diffuser. This dual-material setup creates a stunning optical effect: while the central frosted glass eliminates harsh glare and provides smooth downward lighting, the surrounding acrylic layers catch and softly refract a warm, ambient glow outward. For discerning collectors, this piece is entirely complete and original, featuring its authentic factory label with the original article identification number. The fixture has been professionally cleaned, sanitized, and the electrical system has been meticulously inspected to ensure it is perfectly safe and ready for immediate turn-key installation with a standard E27 bulb. While it displays entirely normal and light signs of vintage wear in a few small areas, these minor age characteristics are purely superficial and do not compromise its breathtaking aesthetic or everyday functionality. How to clean and maintain these vintage acrylic and glass surfaces? Always cut off the main electricity before touching the fixture. For routine dust removal, lightly wipe the acrylic bands and inner glass orb using a dry, ultra-soft microfiber cloth. If the surfaces require refreshing, use a soft cloth slightly dampened with lukewarm water and a single drop of neutral liquid soap. Gently wipe the components down and immediately dry with a fresh, lint-free cloth to eliminate mineral water spots. To safeguard the vintage PMMA composition, absolutely never use alcohol-based glass cleaners, ammonia, or abrasive scrubbing pads. Chemical solvents can cause micro-fractures (known as crazing) in vintage plastics. Always keep moisture entirely away from the original manufacturer paper label. Diameter 61 / H.90 (cm)
