Product description
This large old Christ statue stands out particularly for its remarkably soft and moving facial expression. The gaze is serene, almost vulnerable, and difficult to fully capture in words. One hand points to the Sacred Heart; the other is open and invitingly extended. It was precisely this open hand that was damaged over the years. Yet, it has lost none of its expressive power: broken, but still strong and open to those seeking comfort or closeness. The statue is made of cast plaster and finished in soft, aged ivory tones. The Sacred Heart, with a crown of thorns and flames, retained muted red, green, and dark color accents. The long robes have a beautiful, flowing drape. Probably European work from the first decades of the 20th century, circa 1900–1930.
Condition Authentic old condition with clear signs of use and age. The open hand is damaged. Furthermore, there is local paint loss, small chips, discolorations, and wear to the plaster and the Sacred Heart. These traces have not been removed and are part of the statue's history. Therefore, please view all photos carefully.

The ornate wall console visible in some photos is not part of this offer and is offered separately. Together, both pieces form a special ensemble with a total height of approximately 136 cm. I cannot confirm with certainty that they were originally manufactured as a pair.
Important The statue was placed outdoors briefly for photography purposes only. It is not suitable for permanent placement in a garden or damp room without prior professional treatment and a protective layer. Plaster is highly moisture-absorbent. Even indoors, a dry, well-ventilated place is recommended.
