For sale is an exceptionally large, expressive bronze wall relief by the renowned German sculptor Joseph Krautwald (1914–2003) titled „Die Tauziehenden“ (The Tug-of-War Pullers). This monumental work impresses with its enormous dynamism and Krautwald's absolutely typical, expressive, block-like style (strongly influenced by Ernst Barlach and Käthe Kollwitz). It depicts a group of six figures, paired, straining with full physical force against a rope – a powerful symbol for community, cohesion, and collective effort. Special Feature & Format: While Krautwald's works on the market are usually found as small sacred plaques (10–30 cm), this is a rare large format of approx. 1 meter in length. Due to the integrated mounting brackets on the back, this is very likely a site-specific commissioned work that was once permanently installed in a public building, a school, or a community center. Artist: Joseph Krautwald (1914–2003). Motif: „Die Tauziehenden“ (One of his rather rare secular masterpieces). Material: Genuine, heavy bronze casting (produced using the elaborate sand-casting process, hollow cast). Dimensions: approx. 100 cm long (frieze form). Signature: Unsigned (The authorship is unequivocally documented by the artist's unmistakable, characteristic style).
