Product description
Large Moroccan hollow earthenware dish, entirely adorned with a cobalt blue geometric decoration on an off-white background. The composition is organized around a radiant central star, extended by interlacing patterns, stylized floral motifs, and several concentric friezes. The dense, hand-executed design, as well as the nuances of the glaze, give it the lively character of traditional Moroccan artisanal ceramics. The reverse bears the painted mark "FES / ACH". The mention "FES", consistent with the decoration and technique, likely places its production in Fès. The letters "ACH" do not, at present, allow for precise identification of the workshop or decorator. The piece appears to date from the second half of the 20th century. Its annular foot is equipped with perforations for wall display. Height: 35 cm Width: 35 cm Depth: 8 cm Weight: 1.8 kg Good general vintage condition. Artisanal irregularities in paste, firing, and glaze. The foot has a rough finish with small superficial chips. No significant cracks. Presented on a wall, a console, or a large sideboard, this dish will bring a graphic presence and a very decorative Moroccan touch.
