About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is the iconic Mondial chair, an important piece of Dutch design created by Gerrit Rietveld and his son Wim Rietveld. The design was originally intended for the Vatican Pavilion at the 1958 Brussels World's Fair and is known for its minimalist and functional form.
The chair has a white lacquered metal frame and seat. The construction is both light and strong, a characteristic of the Rietvelds' work. With dimensions of 77 cm high, 50 cm wide, and 56 cm deep, the chair has a compact yet comfortable profile. This model 117 is a beautiful example of the post-war modernist movement in the Netherlands.
This chair is in very good, solid condition consistent with its age, retaining its original character.
Can also be picked up.
