This is the Gispen Model 352 armchair, also known as the Hoffmann chair, designed in 1953 by C.H. Hoffmann for the renowned Dutch manufacturer Gispen. This specific example is an original piece from the 1950s, with a rich history as an executive chair at the Raiffeisen bank. The chair is characterized by a chrome-plated steel tubular frame in a floating sled design, which ensures a comfortable and springy seat. The backrest is characteristically attached to the rear with screws to the two vertical tubes. The gracefully curved armrests feature black Bakelite armrests. The chair is currently upholstered in blue fabric and has a seat height of 49 centimeters, a width of 61 centimeters, a height of 88 centimeters, and a depth of 58 centimeters. The chair is in good, original condition. The chrome frame and the Bakelite armrests have been well preserved. The current upholstery needs to be replaced to restore the chair to its full glory.
